According to city statistics, there are 1547 pizzerias in New York City. 362 are in Manhattan, 378 are in Brooklyn, 318 are in Queens, 253 are in The Bronx, and 236 are in Staten Island. The highest density of pizzerias is in Midtown Manhattan with an average of 1.7 per block, the lowest density is Tottenville, Staten Island with and average of 0.023 per block.
How the Grand Central Parkway was named
Robert Moses’ original plan for the Grand Central Parkway was to have it terminate in Manhattan where Grand Central Terminal is located. There it would have linked into a crosstown expressway, as well as one going through the center of Manhattan. This plan was changed when it was decided to tie the parkway into the Triborough Bridge project.
